Fatlip,
what do you do for a living? what are your thoughts and feelings about your career?

Re: ask fatlip...
on xmas eve i quit my job. i absolutely hated it and i had the perfect opportunity. my company was bought out by another company in brooklyn. they secured another job for me in this new company with higher pay, but money doesn't mean enough to me to go through hell. i'd rather be paid less, have less, and enjoy what i do over the contrary.
i took a few weeks off to do the things i've been meaning to do forever and never had the time for (ie: cleaning up a bunch of shit, making a bunch of calls, just doing shit in general).
as for my career.. i'm stumped. i'm really good with computers but they bore me. i thrive on learning. i want to go back to school but i don't know what to major in. if i sign up for computer classes, i'll never go to class because i have trouble waking up early in the morning to "learn" shit i already know. i want to go for things like modern media, but i'm not really a fan of all the side-courses. i'd love to take programming, since i already know it somewhat, and just take the programming classes without calculus (ugh!). i'd love to go for film, without doing anything relating to acting or scriptwriting.
the school systems just hasn't caught up to modern times yet. i want to do things that break the standards like podcasting does. has anyone watched shit from rev3? it's awesome. i want to do stuff like that. no one around me is interested in the same things that i'm interested in so its really hard to get shit rolling. the people who are interested are burnouts and lazy and unreliable. i need a shiny and an emilio to live here in NY and we can get stuff done.
i'd also like to do some sort of a website or podcast that's simliar to this thread, but no one cares enough about what i have to say, so that wouldn't do too well
i also don't write properly so blogging isnt my forte.
but hopefully i can get a better idea on what i want to do with thehalcyonlife.com -- i'm still in the process.
right now i'm job hunting. bleh.

if you decide to to the programming thing and need help with calculus, my teacher from high school is a genius and wrote the university of alabama calculus text book, she breaks everything down and makes it easy to learn in this packet thing, id be happy to send it to you, it got me through freshman calc for sure, all lowerlevel college level math teachers are either a: too bored to care about teaching it properly or b: too foreign to communicate the subject matter in actual english
but what WAS your job?
