But no, I'd probably never try to turn someone onto them by playing the last 3 or 4 records.dj3stripes wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2017 4:23 pmCan't let this go unchecked. If you think Mosaic is uninspired please use something besides the least inspired album as evidence.... Evolver was about as boring as it gets in terms of musical creation, that is until DTOM came around and caused a 4 year album drought...bcolephases wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2017 11:35 pm Here's my 2 cents. I think Nick's voice and talk- singing/monotone rapping is mainly throwing me off. They get away with it on songs like Crack The Code but it just seemed more stylish back then.
Other than that, the actual music just isn't really that catchy. Again, seems uninspired.
This album doesn't quit. Yes, it has styles that some may not have thought possible to wedge into a 311 song and it's exciting. We're not talking Love song trance remixes weird. The only songs that don't do it for me thus far are the 3 I've had on rotation in the weeks leading up to this.
I really enjoy listening from start to finish as they all seem to transition well into each other which hasn't really been done much on a 311 album since what, transistor?
Wait, is that still a thing? Turning people on to 311? Is this still a debate? How to reel in more fans? This album is a testament to 311 taking everybody's advice. longer jams, expanded sound, longer album. Clear your head, throw on some headphones/go for a long drive and listen from beginning to end and try to just enjoy it.

Re: These new songs
You are exactly correct. Literally a Mountain Lion. It was sure enough a big enough feline to fuck up the front of my car BADLY, that still isn't fixed today. Had to get a new battery, and do some rigging with my dad, with what we had to work with. It runs good now, but the cosmetics of the front right end of my car isn't good. Let me go take some pictures.. brb.$lmjimy311 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2017 4:13 pm I'm gonna guess this was a mountain lion? If so, YOU ARE A GOD DAMNED EMBELLISHING LIAR.

I pegged a deer head on doing 65 on the highway with my corsica back in 2000. Had to replace the condenser, radiator, fan, fan shroud, and also had a fucked up hood until I drove it into the ground for another 5 years. you got lucky.

The Progressive adjuster that looked at my car said almost an identical story to what you just said, with a deer head on..
And with my first 4 vehicles ALL having radiator problems, I was SUPER surprised that THAT part of the car didn't get affected.

Re: These new songs
After telling the world, my family, and people on social media this story after it happened, Christmas eve 2015
98% of the people responded directly to me with all the same question...
"Was the lion okay?"
WTF?! Was the fucking dumb big ass cat that ran across the fucking interstate OKAY?!?!?!?
Who gives a fuck about the eyeless human that was driving the fucking vehicle, right?
Or the damage to my vehicle that might have happened from hitting a mountain Lion at 75mph...
Yeah... After I hit the mountain lion at 11pm at night, with the momentum of 75mph, I made sure to pull over on the side of the interstate a couple miles away, when I was able to stop and get out of my car.
I was concerned about this huge cat's health, that can literally eat my entire body, first and foremost, so I didn't call the police or my car insurance.
I went ahead and just left my car on the side of the rode and walked 2 miles West, with a flash light and no type of weapon for protection, to see if the kitty was okay.
Being that I don't have a medical degree of some sort, I was gonna do ALL THAT I COULD to help save the lion that fucked up my car, instead of continuing to drive to South Louisiana to visit my family for the Christmas holidays.

Cody, if there is one thing you do, it's delivery.
Driving down from Redding one day a deer jumped on top of the hood of my car while we were driving down the mountain, it totaled my dad's car.

Re: These new songs
I made this video a few years ago with 311 as the soundtrack of what happened when I was front passenger 4/17/2009. Enjoy.bcolephases wrote: ↑Fri Jun 23, 2017 12:51 am I'm still missing the part about how you lost an eye because of it?
