Anyway, I decided to upgrade to real webspace with my host. Background: I have had this free webspace deal since winter '03, which ends winter '06. It was a sweet deal, and I got 5gb bandwidth per month. The only time I ever had to pay was when the bandwidth went over the 5gb/month. Lately TB has drawn more than that, but I never had to pay much. I noticed that for only a little more money than I'm getting charged anyway, I can get a "real" hosting deal from them. That means way more storage space and databases, and bandwidth. Instead of 5gb/month, we'll have 1000gb/month.

The only downside is that I'm going to need to move everything to the new server. I've already moved the 311wiki. It's now at http://s172761130.onlinehome.us/wiki/
Since I have both servers, I can take my time getting it running on the new one before I destroy the forum on this one. So there is NO danger of losing everything. (some people may remember something like that happening once a long time ago)
That's right, all posts, settings, everything, will remain. When I move it to the new server, EVERYTHING moves. Post counts, private messages, everything.
I'll need to disable the board to do it. That's so people don't make posts and stuff while I'm transferring it, and then the posts aren't on the new board. It shouldn't be down for more than a few hours when I do it. I'm going to do it next week, I think.
So, if you see that you can't access the board next week, this is why.
