This review makes no sense at all. How would using the same sound/style be spitting in fans' faces??

How are the songs on UP really all that different/bad compared to older great albums of theirs? Not exactly as good, but this person and some of you guys make it sound like this album sounds so vastly different and bad compared to older good stuff that it's unbelievable. I just don't agree or get that.

This dude obviously knows more about the band than they know themselves. It seems to me 311 are trying to reach a larger audience, hence Bob Rock engineering a more "simple" sound to "reach the masses."

It's not that bad. It's pretty original, actually. I don't hear any other bands sounding anywhere near similar to 311...even with Uplifter and UP.

OF COURSE 311 is trying to reach a larger audience. They are not some underground band from the 90s... WTH do you think appearances on Kimmel and Letterman are for, to reach a small audience??
