So many artists these days try really hard to get a little buzz around their new material by saying things like "this is the answer to the divisive times we live in under Trump!" and shit like that. I mean, it's well intentioned I guess, but I'd respect it a lot more if he just said "we wrote this song to sound chill af because we were feeling chill af".

It's a fun little summer jam, but don't try and tell me you're going to change the world with this shit nick. You've had a lot more relevant things to say that actually could reach hearts and minds on songs like Unity or Electricity or any of the other songs they've written with thoughtful and deeper lyrics.

But just admit Good Feeling is a straight up radio pop hit and embrace it. I've listened to it now a bunch of times and I don't mind it. Same with Don't You Worry, but creatively the lyrics on these new tracks are totally devoid of any life or meaning. The style of the music doesn't bother me so much, it's just that I'm a bit worried that Nick and SA don't have anything meaningful to say anymore.

311 has earned & have been living comfortably in a very successful financial reality for quite some time now.
Blunt honesty, this is not how the majority of the human population live on this planet.

... I mean, Nick can always buy a car with shiny rims to rap about for new 311 music, but I feel it's already been done.
It would not be Coming Original, unfortunately.

So if Nick & SA were to write honest lyrics of the things that hold place in their thoughts most often, the 311 fan base would collapse.
It's a harsh reality, but it is reality.
