Wtf .. Late August? VH1 ~ 311 article
311 Take Papa Roach And Unwritten Law On Their Road Trip
Band tours in support of its upcoming LP, Don't Tread on Me.

It's a tried-and-tested rock formula: record album, release album, pack duds, load equipment onto bus, get out there and sell album. It also happens to be Omaha, Nebraska-bred reggae-inclined rockers 311's personal modus operandi. Given that the Nick
Hexum-led act has got a fresh batch of studio tracks in the bag in the form of Don't Tread on Me, it's that time again — mile-logging time.
Later this summer, 311 will be coming to a city near you, and they're bringing Papa Roach and Unwritten Law along for the ride. The band's 19-date headlining tour is set to kick off on August 2 in Tucson, Arizona, and will conclude in Corpus Christi, Texas, on September 8.
But first, 311 will play a pair of warm-up gigs in Santa Cruz, California, on July 27 and 28. The band will also take the stage for the Street Scene Festival in San Diego — which also features Snoop Dogg, the Pixies, the White Stripes, the Killers, and the Black Eyed Peas — on July 30 and perform an intimate show at the Palms Casino Hotel in Las Vegas on August 5. 311 are additionally scheduled to perform at the AmsterJam Festival on New York City's Randalls Island August 20 as part of a lineup that also features Garbage and the Red Hot Chili Peppers (see "Snoop, Chili Peppers Planning Onstage Mash-Up For AmsterJam").
Although there's no concrete release date yet for Don't Tread on Me, the album should hit stores in early August, according to a spokesperson for the band. The disc — 311's follow-up to 2003's Evolver — will feature a dozen tracks, including "Thank Your Lucky Stars," "Frolic Room," "Speak Easy," "Waiting" and "Shooting Up Flares." The band sought to further expand on its funk/reggae experimentations on the disc.
"We're just gonna continue the evolution," Hexum told MTV News (see "311's Nick Hexum Cures Post-Election Depression By Diving Into New LP"). "True 311 fans enjoy the journey."
