Ha yes Gillioz July 2nd. Finally they got smart and picked a smaller venue. Shrine is getting too spacious for them anyway. I'm going to pretend it's the early 2000s and they're touring intimate, old theaters. Sadly, the newer stuff will suggest otherwise... Still I'm holding out hope for a majority of oldies, rarities, and b-sides.
Everything you do, it comes back to you, whatever it may be
To just know hate, well that's so sad. What a life, strife
There's much power in anger, but love's a bigger banger
It's a waste to be a hater
All the angst shit is just cheesy
Be positive
Take on the Love and the good Karma
Suckas look up to thugs, they like the attitude... the harder they act just to hide their insecurity
The only thing you always try to be is hard, because you're scared that someone might pull your card
I don’t dis people, I dis ideas. And when I say dis I mean disagree

Scott Stapp performing same venue day before. How's that for overlap!
Today I got my tickets for Columbus 7/7. With going to the show last year (after a couple years off), going this year for Stereolithic, and probably going next year for Blue 20, I guess it is safe to say that I have officially come out of "retirement" as an active 311-head. I'm back! But mainly because Stereolithic is the best album so far this century. No, it will never surpass the classic 90s albums in my book, but I truly appreciate Stereolithic especially in light of the previous few albums. I should take this year to prep my son, get little earplugs for him and take him to 311 next year at age 5 so I can retire again.
But I'm much more excited for my fave band Clutch headlining an afternoon/evening festival at the end of July, also at the LC on a Saturday! That's going to be so much fun. With buying tickets to these two shows today, my 2014 Summer Concert Season is underway. There are a few other bands I've never seen that I'd like to see this year, but only so much money and time.
