I think this is new. Mostly rehash, but some interesting comments about working with Bob Rock and different videos/remixes they are doing.

Re: New Article
Isn't huffpo pretty popular? I'm surprised they would do an article on 311 haha
Nick says they worked with someone before who "just recorded us but didn't help work on the songs." Does anyone know who this refers to? Ron St Germain maybe?

when we turn to pop the show will stop right nick?Yeah, I always gravitated towards catchy stuff, and to me, if it wasn't stuck in my head, then I'd just let it go on the cutting room floor."

Catchy =/= pop.
Also, SA said it, not Nick.

He's talking about Scotch. Ralston told me on the cruise they'd be back in the studio for the next one.
Re: New Article
Scotch said he was going to be producing the next album? Sorry, I wasn't clear on what you were trying to say....robah wrote:He's talking about Scotch. Ralston told me on the cruise they'd be back in the studio for the next one.

"He's known for heavy music--he's kind of a pop guy--but he takes it and makes it a little bit more simple and enjoyable for the masses. That's the way he describes what he did for Metallica, and I guess that's what I hope he'll do for us"
Pathetic really...

Fucking the opposite of 311. I just don't understand why they would ever want/think this. Sounds like selling out to me...SoundSalad wrote:"He's known for heavy music--he's kind of a pop guy--but he takes it and makes it a little bit more simple and enjoyable for the masses. Re: New Article
they were talking about writing a concept album before uplifter came out... which was shot down and recently again by the band. I am surprised people on here thought it was nick that shot it down. You have to be a complete dumb-ass to not expect this to come from nick. "hence" his dad was a Scientist! That should explain the influence on Sunset in July and the ideas that involve systematic parts of nature. It sure went right over the critics heads! I am all for good ole criticism but not if you have shitty judgement.FrixHex311 wrote:Maybe they r saving scotch for their concept album about space travel or whatever nick wanted.
