Re: Hi Res pic of a single Transistor?
Actually the Transistor and the Vacuum tube are used to the same result.
Are there any similarities between the vacuum tube and the transistor?[think of each of them as control devices, with input, control and output] What is different about the two? [main difference is that the vacuum tube requires a heated cathode to release electrons --other differences are fragility, lack of reliability, much wasted power, much higher voltage for tube; more reliability for transistor]

Re: Hi Res pic of a single Transistor?
this is the second post where i have to ask who you're talking to because no one is arguing
and if you're trying to 'correct' me, you're halfway there.. because you're right, they're both used for the same result
but then again i agreed from the start by saying transistors replaced vacuum tubes for the most part =D

Re: Hi Res pic of a single Transistor?
I may or may of responded 100% correctly in that context but after skimming the post there seemed to be a confusion about the difference between a transistor and a vacuum tube and I was just trying to clear that up. I don't spend hours reading the post I spent two minutes glancing at it and through in some contribution. Maybe it's not perfect but contributing is generally better than not if it's reliable information and can contribute to an interesting discussion. That's my two cents.
