311 day
I remember 311 day 2004, we were right in line next to that kid passed out in the grass on the dvd. He told us that his friends basically fed him a 12 pack of beer and some tequila, then got in line and left him passed out in the grass. He was only like 15 years old. Then my friend was sick from the night before and throwing up in the bushes next to him.
To all my friends, this is the end, the earth has swallowed me.

why is that funny? they want 3-11 day to be intimate.. they could give a shit less about atlanta obviously.. they don't care as long as they can cram as many fools into a single place as they can.. i think the shows that have less seats show that the band cares that the people that care a lot will find a way to be there rather then allowing the amber and love song lovers take over a venue..Yoni wrote:I think is funny that as big as an event 311 day is, the attendence hasnt come close to the 18,000 people at the Atlanta show in 2006.
yes i'm aware that this arena holds what, 19,000 people.. i think someone said... that sucks.. either because it won't sell out, or because it'll be too big of an audience.. the band will focus on selling their music to new fans rather than giving the fans they have what they expect..
don't get me wrong, either way i'm excited and i'm going, but i just think that the bigger crowd shows mean less intamacy...
(please don't quote "let everyone gather, the more the better".. )

Its not really comparable. At a regular show there are probably more casual fans that will go because they'll hear the hits and see other bands. I mean if I wasn't that big of a 311 fan I would rather go to a show that has 311 and other acts compared to a show that is 5 hrs of 311 with a lot of songs that I've never heard.

As a NOLA resident I am definitely going to be there. I never understood why they held it at the UNO arena as opposed to the New Orleans area which is by far better, so that is good.
I will be up in the special club seats fo sho, Imma get wined and dined and I won't have to fucking stand for 6 hours like the last time. I couldn't get out of the car after we drove home for 20 minutes my legs were so dead.
