i drank before the show, about 4 or so but even after the small buzz wore off and i was supposed to be tired off my ass, i as just too blown away for that to have happened

I wish they would stop serving at the venues I go to...The drunks are fucking annoying in the pit, always starting shit with people. If people needed beer to keep the energy up that is sad.

311 audience sucks, except at 311 day where it is the dedicated 311 fans. There really are too many "hey lets go to a concert" people at 311 shows....and they get shitface tailgating, come in and just behave like assholes and keep shouting WGTH (and in New England they also enjoy starting yankees suck chants....but if it is between a yankees suck chant and a WGTH chant I will go with yankees suck)

I get annoyed when good 311 songs get cut for a stupid cover that has been overplayed because some jerkoffs start a chant so they can feel cool for smoking weed.

I have nothing against smoking weed, just the people who think they are cool for doing it.

Stupid cover? it's a great song, written by a great musician, covered by a great band, and it is a very worthy song in terms of an encore, just my opinion, but id rather hear WGTH than many other songs that 311 consistantly play within their encores, i.e. Beyond the Gray Sky, and Amber...

i'd say if there's time for just one song in the encore, make it something totally unexpected.......... if it's gonna be three or more, then sure start with wgth, fact is the encore is more about the band than the fans.........they usually don't wear their monitors, they just have fun and they obviously like to play the song.

WGTH is played out and attracts the worst 311 fans. The next WGTH chant I hear I would like to launch a grenade in that area of the crowd. I fucking hate stonerific people

This whole thing about drinking, i mean think about what we are talking about: NEW JERSEY. For as long as i can rememer, going to 311 shows or any shows in this great state, there are always drunk assholes, and they are the ones who start up the fights in the pits and knock out little girls. i mean, theres always assholes looking to go to a concert and hurt someone. last summer at pnc i got in an argument with someone in the parking lot cause he told me he was there because "311 is all about moshing and fucking people up" obviously this annoyed me, but i refuse to let these shiteating fags bring me to their level.

Yes a stupid cover, doesn't matter who is was written by or covered by. Reggae Got Soul is a great song, but 311s cover is just cheesy because it is for a kids movie. Great band, great song written by another great, but that cover is just something to laugh at.
The music may be good for WGTH but there is no message or point of the song. It is just about weed, not a message for why weed should be legal or anything. The lyrics to that song are just as good as the lyrics to Psychosticks "BEER".
The people who are chanting it are not chanting because it is a "great song written by a great musician, covered by a great band", they are chanting it so they can smoke up and feel cool about it because smoking weed is sooo cool to do, especially at concerts because they are able to do it in a public place. I have talked to many of these people in the pit/outside the gate and that is the overall reason they chant WGTH...some even think it is an original 311 song.
I would rather hear Prisoner like they were going to do the other night but didn't because people started chanting WGTH. I'm not against WGTH as an encore, I'm against it being played all together because it is so overplayed and 311 has PLENTY of songs that are written by them that are great songs that get little or no play. There are so many setlists with great 311 written songs that get bumped while WGTH still gets played due to stupid chants, it is rarely actually on the setlist. WGTH should go into retirement with Slinky.

yah instead of TRANSISTOR july 4th for an encore we got WGTH bc of a chant.... Leaving Babylon would be amazing live.... i have the only live version i think they have ever done and it sounds awesome.

well you most defiantly cannot compare WGTH to Reggae Got Soul, that song just goes downhill as it progresses, anywho, i just enjoy hearing the song, it's not an excuse to smoke on account i am cheefing for a good portion of the show anyways...but whatever, i suppose i can see where you're coming from, but id rather hear WGTH than Amber, which i believe they've played as an encore a couple of shows this tour...man im putting way too much into this argument...

I don't care if it is in the middle of the show, I don't want to hear WGTH. I would rather hear Amber because it is a 311 song and there is actually something to the song.
