its like a tea bag of what the chili peppers used to be tossed into a gallon of water.
sure there are some funky basslines snd shit, but even the funk songs are ruined by awful poppy sappy gay hooks. nothing is worked on in enough depth.
i hate dtom, but im not sure this record is any better. at least dtom doesnt get boring. always an excuse is more progressive than anything on stadium.
i think if they picked the best 12 tracks out of the two discs, and really got into them in more depth, it might be ok.
but its really just sad.
the next 311 record will be way better than this slop, mark my words.
The ink of a scholar is worth a thousand times more than the blood of a martyr Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? "When the rich wage war, it's the poor who die"
nope. i most certainly do not. but i do think its a better album. BSSM>SA too. i just didnt think it needed to be said.

BSSM is the Chili peppers best shit to date. There;s not one bad song on the whole album. Except maybe "they're red hot" - Anyone seen "funky monks" the documentary video of the making of this album? its cool - There will never be a better album than bssm - john frusciante at his best.

Flea was also awesome
The Wal that he used on BSSM is just too much better than all his other basses and sounds. That was the record where is sound was perfect. It was dirty funk on one track and melodic beauty on the next. That's the only bass that I believe he's perfectly pulled that off with.
