Check out tortoise. They are defined as "post-rock" which is "using rock instrumentation for non rock purposes". They are pure intstrumental and have a very unique sound. Tnt and standards are probably the best albums. check em out.

LISTEN TO THIS KID. get a Tortise album, blaze a doober, and listen to it. its like, this hypnotic ambience. its awesome!
