I think you are overestimating the 80's. In those years, I was an elementary, junior high and high school student. I loved 80's music... in the 80's only. In college, I discovered not only the 90's but also the 60's and 70's, which were far, far better decades. Even this decade is waaay better.

The 1980's was a dark, dark time for America and the world, in almost every way. As far as music goes, the suck-ass 80's even had the nerve to live on beyond it's natural life span as an undead creature. The 80's drug on until late-1991 when Nirvana finally drove the stake into the heart of beast, killing it for good.
