Had to switch over from Verizon to get it and the fuckin thing doesn't get shit for reception in my house/neighborhood. freakin wonderful. Guess I'm gonna have to switch back to cingular.

I've had an iPhone since the 2nd version came out. I see no need for a big hard drive. There's an app called Simplify Media that lets you play ALL your music on the phone from anywhere. It's excellent.

its not even marketing. i've been a fan of the iphone before the ad frenzy hit. i mean the convenienceof having basically a laptop in the palm of your hands is awesome. it doubles as your music player, your internet browser, and it has games. its great for the a.d.d. person on the go. yea a lot of the stuff you can live without and i currently am living without (i have a fucking razr), but having google maps with me whenever i want, or being able to play crash bandicoot whenever i want, is just nice to have around as a luxury. and yes i can take my psp and my phone and my ipod and accomplish essentially the same thing, but then i have to lug around 3 things with me, when i can do it all in a phone. again, its convenient

At any rate, I got rid of the blackberry and ended up with the 8gig iphone from AT&T.
I think I'm actually more happy with this because it seems to have a lot more functionality than the blackberry did. I am a big fan of the BB interface so it's taking some time to learn this one, but it's pretty nice and clean. I have a few minor complaints so far but nothing drastic.
But I agree with you Jimy, it's really conventient since it basically is a portable laptop. And I like the fact that you can connect to wifi with it if you're near a signal to have faster browsing and be able to download larger files and whatnot.

I'm in the process of Jailbreaking mine right now so I can have 3rd party apps and custom ringtones and all that cool stuff that Apple doesn't want you to have

JuicyJ, I would definitely recommend the blackberry storm if you are in an area that has good service with Verizon. It's a really nice phone. And I love the touch screen that clicks when you type. haha

Station, do you know if Apple store applications still work on a jailbroken iphone??

perfect example. my brother-in-law, sister, his business partner, and I are trying to figure out what to eat. the business partner has an iphone, opened up the spoon tool, shook it, and now we're eating at top spice (a thai place). its not marketing telling me i need it you dumbfuck. ive never seen marketing for spoon, i've never seen marketing for half of the apps id use. and even if i did, its not them telling me that i want it. its my own choice of wanting the convince of having gps, internet, games, music, and zippo app all in one little device. not everyone is brainwashed my friend.

Jordan, I really don't know. I came really close to trying to jailbreak my iPhone a few weeks after I got it, but decided it wasn't worth it. I definitely would have before the Apple app store came out, but now it's just too easy to get the legit apps and I haven't had the urge to jailbreak. You should do it though, if just to stick it to Apple for having lame restrictions on the app store and phone.

P.S. you can do custom ringtones for free. Just get an AAC version of the audio file you want (you can use Audacity to cut up an mp3 and then use iTunes itself to convert the mp3 to AAC). Then rename the file extension to .m4r and re-import into iTunes. Bam, it shows up under ringtones and you can sync it to the phone.

P.P.S If you're looking for good free games in the app store, check out Dactyl, PapiJump, Cube Runner, Trace. Those are simple games where you try to get a high score, except for Trace.
