Re: religion

not believing in god is just as much a blind faith as believing, as, even with all the science in the world, you still can't prove that god doesn't exist It takes just as much faith to believe there is no god as it does to believe there is. I don't think that's right at all. If I haven't been told ...

Your argument is convincing. Especially when coupled with this:

Re: i should have been a cosmologist

why? *trying to find something poetic* Basically it unlocks the mathematical secrets of physics for you, at least Newtonian physics. And that's what calculus does for you. It gives you a vantage point on the world that you cannot have any other way. It teaches you the language you must know to unde...

Re: religion

Yeah, it's right there in the wikipedia article Since there have been many religions throughout history, and therefore many potential gods, some assert that all of them need to be factored into the wager, in an argument known as the argument from inconsistent revelations. This would lead to a high p...

Get a calculus book and read it, or learn it online. Everyone should know calculus, and I bet you would be able to pick it up when you have all the time to you want to learn it.

Re: can we declare tb offically dead now?

It's too bad that the 311heaven domain is being squatted on. Anyway, I have no plans to ever kill this forum, but I would not be offended if someone with more time and motivation created a forum that was better to use for this same community of people. I would totally offer a copy of the database up...

I'm sure he is not saying that. Prophets and evangelists can certainly believe themselves and not purposely mislead people, though I'm sure some of them do (mislead purposely).

Christianity just comes from Judaism, which has been around longer than 2000 years. The Old Testament is pretty scary.

Downtime

The forum's been down for over 2 days because we ran out of database space. The site has been transferred from 1&1 webhosting to BlueHost. What's lame is that our database is not big at all. 1&1 limits each database to 100MB and ours was up to about 150MB. That's really not that big for a da...

Best thing about Indianapolis: nice low cost of living.

40k in Indy = 87k in NY, apparenly.
