Re: Friday Afternoon
I've learned to take what Nick says with a grain of salt, so when he spoke about this one, I was like, "eh. I may not like that one." I was wrong. The beginning of it is reminiscent of Modest Mouse, which is not a bad thing. Yesterday, I was driving with my fiance (who does NOT like 311) while this song was on and she said, "Is this 311? ...I like it." Knowing that the breakdown was coming up I said, "You're about to not like it." Then it came and she just went "Hmpf." True story. I like this song. I think the solo ends too soon and abruptly, always leaves me wanting more.

Re: Friday Afternoon
This song is good and enjoyable. The end of it was leaving me with wanting more
Re: Friday Afternoon
The end is reminiscent of Faith No More - Epic
Re: Friday Afternoon
My fav song from the album. I just love how it starts slow and just gets faster and faster. Pretty good example of so called "math metal". Cant wait to see it live

Re: Friday Afternoon
The other day I accidentally played the actual album instead of my playlist of the album that removed Friday Afternoon. When it came on, I decided not to skip it and let it play. I think I'm more ok with this song now. It's not ever going to be one of my favorites but I went ahead and added it back to the playlist.ska wrote:I don't love this song as others do. Not saying I don't enjoy it. But I keep going back to other songs before this one. The heavy reggae part is great though.
But I'm still leaving out The Call and Tranquility.

Totally agree. I'm waiting for Nick to throw a "I'm like so what I'm drunk" in there lolJordan311 wrote:it's the remix to ignition.

Re: Friday Afternoon
Yeah I'm not a huge fan of those 2 either. Tranquility is decent, but for some reason I really don't like The Call very much - or at least a lot of parts of it. Can't put my finger on why. I still wouldn't skip it. It's listenable, but yeah.. idkMindspin wrote:But I'm still leaving out The Call and Tranquility.

Nick's first verse on The Call is crap.. the rest of the song is great.

I'm hearing more Avenged Sevenfold than Faith No More.k311 wrote:The end is reminiscent of Faith No More - Epic
Totally! B-) Both are very slow reggae with the echoed guitars. The distorted guitar part that goes on at the same time reminds me of the end of "1,2,3" as well.logosteel wrote:Does no one else hear dreamland during the break down after the above ^ lyric?
