my blog
Re: my blog
I had my work displayed at the Sonar venue in Baltimore city last Saturday. The event was called UNITE. My work was also used as source material for some of the visualizations for the band Hypnotic Buddha:

Re: my blog
Thank you for the kind words. It's actually a face painting. There were a few other artists doing different things. One chick was doing Alex Grey style work, and another was doing face painting. But pretty much, wild hippies running amuck. It's also because Hypnotic Buddha's singer is a major hippie and their music draws in that kind of crowd. I will admit that when hanging the work, I was a bit uneasy at first when the marijuana booth guy set up underneath my work. But it was a pretty positive experience overall

I think its close to 4x6 feet. Its the largest one for thesis so far. We only have a month before graduation so I'm not sure if this will be the last piece or not......probably not

I'm pretty sure it's all one piece, considering the shapes and things continue off the two canvases you see, and onto the wall. Unless that's some sort of visual framing technique. Either way it looks really cool. I actually like the one on the right more. The blue really pops, and i like how it's a close-up of the one on the left but from a more interesting angle. It really adds depth and perspective to the piece, whereas the one on the left has a more flat look like it's a photograph, because it's taken from a straight on angle from the front. The one on the right has a more abstract feel to it also.
poolio, how do you go about creating these? Do you set up what you're going to paint with all these objects and arrange them, and then use it as a model to paint? Or do you take a picture of an existing set-up and try to recreate it? Or do you just come up with this stuff in your head?
