Yes you did.
I said he is a freak of nature, and by that I don't mean good.

18 year old kids aren't built like that, nor are they that hairy. Shaq was even tall and thin when he came into the league, and he was older as a rookie.

No I didn't.

Check this out... Lebron is 22 now, the same age Michael Jordan was as a rookie.

Look at MJ's ROOKIE season:

38.3 Minutes/game, .515 FG%, 6.5 rebounds/game, 5.9 assists/game, 2.39 steals/game, 28.2 points/game.

Lebron's 4th season (so far):

41 Minutes/game, .475 FG%, 6.9 rebounds/game, 6 assists/game, 1.6 steals/game, 26.4 points/game.

Michael did more as a rookie, in less time, and he was like 40 pounds lighter, and two inches shorter.

Look at MJ's 4th seasons stats:

40.4 Minutes/game, .535 FG%, 5.5 rebounds/game, 5.9 assists/game, 3.16 steals/game, 35 points/game.

You make it seem like there is this huge difference between stats. It really isn't that much. I would say that he is a close to Jordan as we have right now.

First off, when you talk about the best in the league....just throw the stats out the window. Stats can be impressive, but also misleading. The best are judged first by championships and their ability to perfrom in the clutch.....stats are the third criteria. I hate to say this, but Kobe Bryant is the best basketball player in the league. I put him ahead of Dwyane Wade and LeBron James. Please stop the LeBron/Jordan comparisons until LeBron wins at least three rings. I think LeBron is a great player with a bright future, but let him win some championships before he is considered an all time great. He definitely has the potential, but he has to fufill it.

I also agree that Kobe is the best right now if you want to talk about all around talent. Lebron can't D up like Kobe can and needs to work on his free throws. I'd say that D-Wade is 2nd to Kobe but he's gotta work on the 3 ball and he isn't as good as an overall player yet.
Top Five:
1. Kobe
2. D-Wade
3. Lebron
4. Nash
5. Dirk
I'd like to build the world a spliff.

Questionable priorities

Image
LeBron James' talent has yet to translate into playoff success. (Morry Gash / Associated Press)

Last week LeBron James publicly stated that his ultimate goal is to become "an international icon."

Hmmm.

Not to win a championship?

Which is precisely why a LeBron-centric team will never win one.

But I guess the very young man is still a very young man and is still in love with his own celebrity. LBJ's stated priority, however, constitutes a damning indictment of American culture. All things ephemeral — like money, public adulation, a sense of total entitlement, a disinclination to accept the consequences of one's own actions — have much more weight than real-life substance.

Even in the NBA, such fantasies rule supreme, and entertainment and commerce have long since trumped the actual game-time competition.

If the whole business weren't so sad, it would be hilariously funny.

If LBJ doesen't start growing up right now he'll turn into Shawn Kemp before he's 40.
