I posit that a loss to a British colony next week would be psychologically devastating going into the following week against England. Assuming the South African climate gives a slight edge to the Aussies, I think it's safe to start pre-lubing.

Maradona used to run with no style as well, and is considered a genius.

well one reason is that we canceled out their points so when/if it goes down to point differentials which is major win

Korea's defense always sucked. That is why they can never go too far, that kick by Messi had like 5 argentinians (all undefended) and all the Koreans on the other side. It was pathetic...Argentina are just too good for them. Messi is superb while Tevez is playing extremely well. Koreans look like schoolboys when playing against a strong team like Argentina.

MESSI IS THE GREATEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD.

As much as I love Argentina right now, I can't help but think how much Germany has impressed me. Can't wait for this game tommorow. The whole team from Schweinsteiger to Klose to Podolski to Mueller; incredible passing and creative goals from 4 different scorers. Let's not forget about their shut-down defense, they may very well be the juggernaut of the World Cup

I just found it funny, like in "hai guyz the ameriken r stupid" but yeah, in fact it's a fair wait to put it. You have the US, a "lower level" team from CONCACAF which gets to play to England, which is basically one of the best teams on the planet. I'm glad the US has managed to play with a lot of style. Just look at those goals against Slovenia, pure adrenaline-driven game. Especially that head-down assistance for the second goal, wow!

However, the US is stuck with 2 points, which is something to worry about.

There have been a lot of polemic red cards in thie World Cup. I think the referees are trying their best to be fair --just check how the South African goalkeeper had to get out of the game... that was sick!

This ref often whistled before things happened simply to avoid making a decision. I still believe there is no way you can convince me that it was reasonable to call a foul against the US. If the play would have turned out differently is entirely another story.

Unless there was something that we all missed in that play, this referee will be sent home packing. That's for sure, since this was a mistake that affected the outcome of the match.

The best refereeing crew so far in this tournament has been the one that whistled the opener between S.Africa and Mexico. The crew was from the AFC. Although this particular call might have been the single most glaring referee error in this World Cup, the worst refereeing overall was from the Spaniard (UEFA) that whistled the Germany-Serbia match. In my mind, he just wanted to be the center of attention instead of letting the focus be on the players and the game they were playing.

The referee from Mali, I felt, was kind to Dempsey even after his challenge in the opening minute of the game. Dempsey deserved a yellow on a couple more challenges. He may have gotten a couple of insignificant calls wrong during the match, but until whistling that play, I didn't think he was doing a terrible job. He just wasn't very good, but he didn't appear as the kind who wanted the focus on himself.

Don't know what happened with that whistle, but it seems he just saw some pushing and shoving and hugging and might have caught a moment when one of the US players was doing the shoving? If he really had seen what I saw on the replay, his whistle would have been for a pk.

Anybody catch the USA game? I'm still euphoric from it right now. That was a very very entertaining game to say the least.
