So what? If they really should be #1 then they wouldn't be underdogs to the #9 team in the country. You know who should #1? Hawaii. It shouldn't matter who you beat, just that you beat them. Hell Bowl Sub Division teams can compete with BCS teams now. Thats why we need a playoff system to replace the BCS. That way Hawaii can actually prove that they are a good team. Perfect example: Last year Boise State should have been in the title game. Because of the same bullshit that you are saying, they were in a lesser bowl. What did a WAC team to do a BIG 12 team? They beat them.

if the bcs were even ran by the ncaa it'd be a different story, too bad it's all about money, otherwise yes, there would be a play off system much like every other ncaa sport....... but on a side note, if a school isn't part of a BCS program there shouldn't even be a ranking system for that school, I mean what sense does it make? it's all screwed up.
