Inception

Post by Alexnova »

Just came back from it. What a ****ing mindtrip. The cinematography was groundbreaking.

Can the Academy please give Leonardo DiCaprio a ****ing Oscar please? Jesus he was so emotionally intense in this movie. Tom Hardy was most excellent as well.

Completely original, challenging, rewards the intillect, best movie to come out this year. Hell probably the best film I've seen in years, I'm still speechless.

I loved it

It actually felt like a dream after I had watched it

There's a ton of mixed reviews for it, but personally I thought it was brilliant and a very entertaining film to put your mind into

are you guys seriously trying to guess whether it was real or a dream at the end? the whole point was to make it unclear

the story wasn't written with a definite ending in that sense; trying to figure one out is futile!

that's fine.. but jordan still suffers from "i'm always right syndrome" .. bad case of it too. usually it dissipates around the age of 18-20; but i guess not all the time

some people are late bloomers

Saw this posted on another forum. I listened to it and didn't understand the importance at first. Then I thought about it a little more.

From 0:00 to 0:22 in the video is the final musical cue that is played at the very end of the last scene...as the top is spinning...and then ends when the screen cuts to black.

From 0:23 to 0:35 is the song, "Non, je ne regrette rien", that is used as the musical "kick" throughout the movie to wake up from the dream(s).

From 0:36 to 1:15 is the song used for the "kick" again, but at a much slower speed. You'll notice that it happens to be the musical cue in the first part of the video, that you hear in the final scene.

It's possible, then, that what we were hearing as an audience in the last scene wasn't just a musical cue for dramatic effect. It was a "kick" that was supposed to wake Cobb up from his dream.

Since we are told that the levels of the dream get slower in time the deeper one goes, this could be the reason that the song is played much slower. The music is bleeding through to the next dream level, but not at the same speed that's it's played in the originating dream level.

Or it could be a clever use of the "kick" song for dramatic effect for the end scene. Who really knows.
