final fantasy XIII
so my hype for this game has been wavering. first it was really high, but then i found out that the battle system is kind of like the one in 12 and i hated that battle system. but then i heard its a lot better than 12s so my hype went back up. but then i read that there are no towns in the game, and im like wtf? that still has a bitter taste in my mouth. story is supposed to be awesome, but i heard the main boss sucks which really sucks. regardless, its a final fantasy and im not NOT going to buy it. so 13 here i come

Re: final fantasy XIII
I don't think I am going to make much of an effort to get it, I watched a video of the gameplay and it just didn't look appealing to me like the old games were, when I played on PS1

Re: final fantasy XIII
It's gonna be sickkkkkkkkkkkkkkk. I've been trying to keep myself pretty much in the dark about the story and things like that. I want it to be a surprise. Looks like an awesome battle system though. Thank god they got rid of everything they did in FF XII.
People complain that the game is too linear, but personally, I LOVE linear JRPGs. As long as they have good pacing, it allows me to get more into the story if I'm not bogged down by meaningless exploration and side quests and junk.
And now that I'm most likely not going to 311 day I'll be able to spend time playing this. woot!

Re: final fantasy XIII
None of the new FF games can live up to the status 3 and 7. .
Im not going to buy this. It just seams like a giant cut scene that you can interact with.

Re: final fantasy XIII
fuckkkk I'm gonna play it right NOW.
I bought it when it came out and I've literally clocked only an hour and a half. Not because it's bad by any means, I've just been way busy working and hanging out with the new chick. It's cutting into my gaming time >_<
But so far what I've seen is baddass.

Re: final fantasy XIII
there is a lot of classic final fantasy in this new version. first of all, it blows 12 out of water in terms of gameplay. the story is building a nice framework for me at the point that im at, and im almost at (what the reviews say atleast) the point in the game where things go from good, to great. ska, i went into this game thinking it was gonna suck, and i've been surprisingly blown away. the previews really dont do this game justice. i cant wait until the linear part of the game goes by, not to say its a bad thing it really puts a greater focus on the story and gameplay which is what the game is really all about anyway. id say rent it, but i dont thinkyou'll be satisfied if you only play for a few hours, buy it ska, its worth it.

no ska, play 13 now. pick it up in a month or two when its used and hte price has dropped a bit if you want, just play it. it really really is good. everything i read that fan boys were knocking it for (no towns, stores, etc...) you realize that you dont even need it in the context of the game. the battle system is so much more involved than previous games where you mindless just pressed x over and over. you actually have to pay attention and pace yourself in this one, it feels like an action game, but its still rpg, its hard to describe. the characters are likable (all except hope...i wanna kill him), the story is awesome, and the graphics are puuuuurty. plus, you'll never get a chance to play this once you have a kid.
