I'm listening to a torrent...
...of the very first 311 show I ever went to. 9/26/01
I am so lucky I found this show online. Brings back so many memories!
And yeah I know. '01 hardly oldschool... I wish I would have went to see them earlier... I also wish this was a video, but the audio is kick ass enough, and the set list was great.
It's pretty cool to be able to listen to this. It was right after the 9/11 terrorist attack so I remember at the end the crowd busted into a "U.S.A! USA! USA!" chant after 311 went off and it's all here on the recording.
Anyone else have recordings of their first 311 shows or cool stories about their first 311 show?

At my first 311 show ('03) some thirty-something year old dude came to the show with his wife and he kept offering my friend and I weed, which my friend accepted but I didn't... later the guy went and bought this HUGE thing of nachos but by the time he got back, the alcohol + weed must have irked his appetite because he gave the whole thing to my friend and I. Fucking scrumptious. 311 fans are great when they're not psychotic about being up in front. There are some 311 fans I wouldn't mind seeing get hit by a bus.

Any beat or melody can become a great song as long as you know how to compliment it.

I didnt get a chance to see them until 2003 - in Atlanta. 8-23-03 at the hifi buys amphitheater. Boy I had no idea was a 311 show was going to be like, and it sure was nice, I had great seats, with Chad's first downbeat in Freak out, it really got me so damn energetic and hyped. I wish I could find a recording of it, but I dont think there is one floating around....

8/23/03 in New Orleans...what a treat. I found a decent recording which is awesome. After Freak Out I was exhausted, but it was amazing. The whole show I was in shock that I was actually at a 311 concert because it felt so unreal. Needless to say, I haven't missed a show around here since then...
