woot woot (Chicago show 8/11)

Post by Jordan311 »

Just got back from the Chicago show. It was pretty fuckin' sweet!

They opened w/ the Transistor intro.
I can't really remember all the songs they played as I was pretty intoxicated. I don't think there were too many rarities, but overall it was pretty bad ass.
I know they played Sick Tight, Purpose, T&P, Six, Freeze Time, Misdirected Hostility, and a bunch of other shit. They closed(encore) with WGTH and Down.

The music was awesome but the crowd sucked ass. I couldn't even enjoy the show because I was smashed against the rail. And then my glasses fell off and the security guy took them and I never got them back. So I pretty much missed 80% of the show. But atleast I saw the Transistor intro. That was sick!

I thought the crowd was pretty chill.
It's always gonna be rough if you're up front against the rail.
Overall they were very chill.
Although, for some reason they were unnecessarily rough during Nix hex which fucking pissed me off. But other than that I was happy with the crowd.

I don't know, it must have just been the front. When we saw them last year at OUI we were against the rail and the crowd was great and we had plenty of room. I think during the summer there are just way to many drunk ass holes. But anyways, I saw Gunther before and during the show and were talking a little bit.

It's always going to be rough on the rail. I would recommend people to do alot of pushups for atleast a week prior to strengthen your triceps. No joke.

Couldnt be more off! thank you! A voice of reason. It was painfull being at a show with that kind of a setlist! Ive been to 11 shows and this was by far the worst setlist. Number one i dont mind down, i just dont think they sould close with it. There was no love song which was a plus. But there were an enormous amount of tracks from the blue album which is clearly thier worst work outside of dtom. Homebrew lucky were no where to be found, 1 song of evolver, paradise over visit?, and so fourth and so on. The detroit setlist was awsome, i hope the atlanta show will have some great rarely heard tracks ie uncalm, Jupiter, & summer of love. Summer of love should be a staple on this tour i dont know why its not.

Wow, are you guys serious? Misdirected is one of my favorite songs, I would kill to see that live...Six and WWIT make the show 10 times better anyways

I don't have contacts and I've worn my glasses to every other 311 show I've been to and have never had a problem.
