By the time you hear this it will be Too Late
This song is pretty awesome. I find myself having it constantly on repeat. SA's raps are kinda cheesy, but it's to be expected. The instrumentals are so good. Haven't head banged to 311 for a while but that's all changed now. This might be my favorite on the album.

SA's raps are NEVER cheesy. It's never literal words taken for what they are as is.Shadow OSX wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2017 1:24 pm This song is pretty awesome. Re: By the time you hear this it will be Too Late
Although I made most of the lyrics literal to what the words are, using video, I did that for a reason.
A large amount of 311 lyrics are meant to be taken however the individual wants it to be taken, which makes the lyrics touch a larger crowd's hearts.
Sure, a lot of 311 songs also have 1 specific meaning as well.
But...
"PEOPLEEE WANT TO BELIEVEEEE IN MYSTERYYYY"
To me personally and if I had to guess, the boys as well- SA's last verse is just an analogy.
"Only thing to stop us
or cutting us off of
a road I’ve been told
that ends in a drop off
The universe explodes
new galaxies pop up
new galaxies pop up"
Part I
"Only thing to stop us
or cutting us off of
a road I’ve been told
that ends in a drop off"
- The only thing that's stopping or cutting 311 off of continually making music and Rockin Live shows, is what everyone says- that bands never last THAT long and it's coming soon. Hence "a road I've been told that ends in a drop off"
Part II
It would have to take the UNIVERSE TO LITERALLY EXPLODE to stop 311.
HOWEVER!
EVEN IF the entire universe explodes...
Life is Continuous for eternity and new galaxies will start to form anyway, bringing 311 back together naturally.
So in conclusion, Martinez takes the most apocalyptic analogy possible to straight up say, 311 IS GOING FOREVER SON!
I DARE YOU to try to stop us, pinche bitch!
Know what though??
It's already Too Late kid!
We got support from people all around the PLANET.

No. Just because he has a different intended meaning than what's on the surface does not change how cheesy they are.

I'm not going to 311 for the best lyrics. If you can't see how cheesy 311 lyrics are, you're blind.

Or this classic rarely played live tune, because of it's high grade lyrical quality from Martinez:CodyComeaux wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2017 1:34 pm(Almost at TB rating status, so I'm posting whatever, lol)$lmjimy311 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2017 12:27 pm I'm not going to 311 for the best lyrics. Or the incredible literary usage of an oxymoron of this Hexum quote, from the song Grassroots:CodyComeaux wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2017 1:38 pmOr this classic rarely played live tune, because of it's high grade lyrical quality from Martinez:CodyComeaux wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2017 1:34 pm(Almost at TB rating status, so I'm posting whatever, lol)$lmjimy311 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2017 12:27 pm I'm not going to 311 for the best lyrics.
