however, one nerdy little nitpick, From Chaos was most definitely released on vinyl when it came out. so this issue won't be the first edition like it claims.

yeah, i commented the same thing on their facebook. who the hell writes up these strange emails that we get every 6 months? I swear they're written by somebody who barely has any knowledge of the band, let alone what's new.

I've never owned vinyl. Is the sound quality better or is it just a collector's item?

The sound quality being 'better' on vinyl is debatable, imo it's better described as just 'different' than what you're used to listening to digitally (and whether you find it better or not is subjective). Esp with a band or an album that you've played to death on CD/MP3, listening on vinyl gives you a different take on hearing the album - possibly more analog, warm, bassy on good studio speakers or headphones. It's worth it to give a listen. Other than that, yeah it's mostly just a collector's item for the completist and a way to own a more interesting version of the physical media.

But I don't consider myself an true audiophile and haven't gotten into FLAC or anything

I'm the furthest thing from an audiophile but for the past few years I've been buying most new releases on vinyl for the collecting aspect. Most of the time you get a digital download as well when you buy the vinyl so why not? After I retire I plan on having a listening room/den with a comfy recliner, a turntable and solid headphones to just unwind in. I like the sound of vinyl and the larger artwork to display.

Was Soundsystem released on vinyl originally or did it come out later? That would be the one I'd want to hear.

yep, there was an original release in 99 and then the re-issue in 2012

fair price too, pretty much the retail price, esp considering that the Grassroots re-issue from the same year is going for nearly $100. wish I wouldn't have slept on that when it came out.

STOP!!! Everytime I see a discogs link I end up buying shit I don't need.

Wife gave me an original pressing of SS for a wedding gift. Hot topic ended up selling the repressing a few years later.

Also, 100 bucks is stupid............ from what i've been told most of them skip terribly. I was able to work out a trade for the missing colors (It came out on green, black, and yellow vinyl) via 311 trading post, do NOT spend over 40 bucks for that pressing...

Bump! Just wanna get this going again as time is upon us! Sorta.

PRE ORDER Feb 22nd! More info out either later this month or OF COURSE something on 3/11.

From speculations I'm guessing a single should be out within 1-2 months. MAYBE even 311 day, who knows.

We can only guess at this point. But signs seem to point to a Spring release for the Album.



Hopefully we get REAL info soon. But this is exciting brahs

Barely, if any info will be announced today, i can nearly guarantee it. Joan's been in front of it (likely due to all of the gripes on facebook and the bb)
