We grew up listening to 311. They were in their twenties when I discovered them as a teenager. Now I'm in my early 30's and they're in their 40's. It's fucking nuts. We've journeyed with them as they tasted the main stream, explored new sounds, battled record labels, survived inner band turmoil, handled demo-gate, the beating of Scott Stap, struggling with a lack of inspiration, ultimately divorcing the comfort of their major label, while staying together and perpetually churning out positive vibes along the way. It's incredibly rare. And finally, in my mind and my heart they have released an album that feels true to who they are and what they're capable of. They still have potential. And they're in control of their destiny.
Thanks for the ride 311!

I love Stereolithic so much. I thought a few months on that I'd tire of it or the shininess would wear off. Nope. This is top shelf 311 for me. It's the best album they could possibly make at this stage of their career and I think it sits proudly and comfortably shoulder to shoulder with their best albums. It's great.

After 6 months I can comfortably say that Transistor still occupies my #1 slotdj3stripes wrote:Freeze Time wrote:It's the best album they could possibly make at this stage of their career and I think it sits proudly and comfortably shoulder to shoulder with their best albums. It's great.
