Re: Existential Hero
This is one of the songs where I like the instrumentals better than the vocals, though the vocals are miles and miles ahead of the songs on UP and Uplifter. Chad's drumming is impressive. I wish he would go all out more. I like his subtlety, but I like when he really rips, too. The shift to half-time at the end is neat.

Re: Existential Hero
The vocal effects on Nick's verse is an eargasm in headphones. Harkens back to SS/FC/Transistor days. This is as close to I've come in picking a favorite it, it's def the front runner right now. Chad's double bass drum pattern little part in the outro is just unreal. Adds so much. My favorite Mahoney song. The whole band is so on point here!!
Re: Existential Hero
So much discussion of the boom box sample but no mention anywhere of the Welcome sample that kicks this off?

ska wrote:More vintage 311. I compare it to The Great Divide. Though not as good. But still rocks. The beginning reminds me of a Limp Bizkit song. I like the effects during the chorus. And SA rips shit.

I am loving this one more and more...in fact the First Dimension -> Made in the Shade -> Existential Hero run is the highlight of the album for me
