Stereolithic, loving it

Post by Smoke »

I'm fucking ecstatic right now. 311's back baby, not that I thought they went away. But they made a few steps back in the last decade and one giant leap forward with this album. I"m not even all the way through yet. I don't think it's the oooo shiny new album feeling either.

I don't know who takes the credit here, 311, Scotch, Nick, Jesus... I don't know. But someone deserves a high five.

I wish I was going to 311 day now. damnnnnn

It's odd to play a 311 album once and be amazed. Honestly used to take 2-3 tries for the last 5 albums. great work

Did you ever find yourself asking yourself "I have to like this, it's 311. What is wrong with me?" I never hated anything, but I felt that I should love it, and was sad that I didn't...

When I got uplifter it was something I just didn't want to play in my car, nothing I wanted to share with friends that weren't 311 fans. Universal Pulse was different, better, more the 311 I like. THis though, this is something I'm pleased to share with everyone.

May be a coincidence or not but on "The Great Divide" Nick says "Motherfucker I get back up like there never was a scuffle" and he may be talking about the fight with Scott Stapp from a few years back. His solo album was apparently called "The Great Divide" as well: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/ ... l-20051201" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Probably a coincidence but who knows. Fuck Scott Stapp

From how I remember it, it was SA that got in a fight with Scott and SA subsequently broke his own hand of that dumbass' skull. Could still be a reference to it I suppose.
