these are good. just heard sideways and supernatural. really cool sound. and this from a recent interview with Nick: "I just went to Phish and I'm going to Phish again in Denver. I'm seeing Dave Matthews, John Scofield, Gov't Mule, Pearl Jam and Gary Clark Jr." I hope they jam out these tunes if they play quintet shows.

maybe it is the 311 "package" that holds them back - fan expectations. i mean.. all 3 songs are super gay, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
