That was funny
the only thing true, we gotta love each other. try to keep a positive vibe.
they make it tough for ya. you're cut off and lonely while you hustle for dough.
we can overcome the wrongs while we're reachin' the point.
stick together all forever. now continue to flow

Yeah, I don't really think 311's sound translates well to an orchestra. But if you want an awesome, SWEET ASS SWEET, orchestra tribute album pick up: 'The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Plays The Music of R.E.M."

Reel Big Fish "Suckers": http://zvukoff.ru/song/1019787

You don't like R.E.M.?? Really? Granted they had a lot of bad songs, they were a band that would have like 2 or 3 greats songs per album and 2 or 3 good songs per album and than like 5 to 7 bad songs per album, but the Philharmonic R.E.M. album includes great versions of some of R.E.M's best stuff, like:

'What's the Frequency Kenneth?'
'Losing My Religion'
'Man On the Moon'
'Nightswimming'
'Stand'

Love REM. Grew up listening them.

I don't really care for any orchestra covers though. Seems like that's done only to convince people who aren't going to like orchestras to like orchestras. I already like orchestras so ya. there it is

Smoke: Seriously at least try out 'What's the Frequency Kenneth?' cover by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. I am one of those people that never liked orchestra's but love their R.E.M. cover album, however, the cover of 'What's the Frequency Kenneth?' is just jaw droppingly good!!!

Also, not sure about you, but I was happy to hear that R.E.M. finally retired, I never liked them going on as a 3 piece anyways, LOL, now if we can just get The Rolling Stones and AC / DC to finally retire!!!

TBH I haven't been a huge fan of them for years. There most recent albums I couldn't get behind. Although given the mood sometimes they just really click for me. Hard to explain.

I'll check it out on your recommendation

Yeah, there recent stuff isn't too great, mostly because one of the members left for health problems, I believe it was the drummer, and there early stuff is too folksly for me, personally. However, R.E.M.'s middle years include incredible albums, I'm talking about: 'Green', 'Automatic for the People', and 'Monster' mainly. Those are my fave albums of theirs.

Interesting fact, did you know towards the end of Kurt Cobain's life R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe was trying to get Kurt to come to Georgia to work on an EP together, mostly was doing it to try to help Kurt and get him straight, but would have been awesome to hear that!
