Do you pay for 311 or download it for free???
Just was curious if people here pay for their 311 stuff, I mean the studio albums not B sides and live stuff that you can only find online for free, or if they download it for free.
I personally pay for 311's studio albums, I bought the cd's of 'Transistor', '311', 'Grassroots', 'Music', and 'Uplifter' and the other studio albums I got via mp3 but paid for them. LOL, yes I know 'Uplifter' sucks, I only bought the physical copy of it to get the DVD I didn't want the album at all, just the DVD that came with it. I also bought ETSD, ETSD2, and 311 Day 2004 DVD.
Also, although it isn't related at all, the first album of 311's I ever bought was 'Transistor' and it is still by far my fave.

Re: Do you pay for 311 or download it for free???
I had bought all of 311's stuff up until all my CDs got stolen out of my car a couple years ago I stopped buying shit.
So I think DTOM was the last 311 album I actually purchased.

I do both. Because as leaks come, I'll still grab it on launch day (or that weekend)

Buy Buy Buy
I want 311 to make money and to make music. They can't do that if their fans don't support them.

since 97 i've bought every album at midnight, the last few I've gotten more than once copy (pre-order) due to promotions. I buy other bands' music as well, but not nearly as often or spontaneous as I used to
Re: Do you pay for 311 or download it for free???
I have a feeling this is one of the band members.
If it is, make a fucking jam album that has all the songs linked together and ill buy.
I pirate everything.

Re: Do you pay for 311 or download it for free???
I first heard Music on my frat brother's CD in 1993, and my personal 311 collection started in March 1994 with a free dub of it on cassette (and Beck's Mellow Gold on the B-side)...
Later in 1994, I first bought Music and then Grassroots on CD. Starting with Blue, I've bought every new 311 studio album in a retail store on the release date. I still have all of my original CDs (including all the Capricorn releases).
I also bought all of the 93-99 studio albums on cassette, including Transistor twice because I accidently bought a clean version first ("Let's come together with this new coast-coast, we've got the mother-mother kids now let's freak this-this"). I gave away all the cassettes in 2002.
A few years ago I bought the Blue promotional vinyl on eBay, and I recently bought the new Music and Grassroots vinyls. I had also bought From Chaos on vinyl but sold it a while back.
So I've bought every studio album 1-3 times and that works out to me paying money to buy 20 copies of 311 studio albums total. I also bought the Freak Out single on vinyl, and I think I still have a few other 311 vinyls. I bought Omaha Sessions through mail order when it was first available to order. And I bought Live and Greatest Hits on CD at retail on the release dates.
The only things I've downloaded for free that I still have are Dammit!, Unity, Hydroponic, the Soundsystem demo, the complete 311 Day 2004 bootleg, and just a few more outtakes.

That is incorrect. Nick disagrees with you.

Exact same thing happened to me. One of the saddest moments in my life. Also helped me get over my materialism deal.Jordan311 wrote:I had bought all of 311's stuff up until all my CDs got stolen out of my car a couple years ago I stopped buying shit.
