Uplifter v. Universal Pulse
which one did you like better? I know i know they both suck dog shit blah blah blah. give me a legit answer. if you HAD to pick one and listen to it which one would it be?. you can't pick one and then just burn it, give it to someone, throw it away, etc...
i'm going with uplifter.
- more songs
- i like more than 8 songs off of uplifter so its not just quality v. quantity
- songs like too much too fast are too good for me to dislike.
- cover art is better (though this has no actual value when judging the album unless you're doing the whole judge a cd by its cover nonsense)

Uplifter may be gay, but it is loud and their best try since evolver. Pulse was quiet and too short. Label it as an EP faggots.
Re: Uplifter v. Universal Pulse
going by song, Pulse. going by whole album, Uplifter.

Universal Pulse is better
If an album could make me embarrassed to be a fan of 311, and I'm not to be clear, it would be Uplifter.
That has a lot to do with me thinking about the band "savage Garden" when I play the album.

Re: Uplifter v. Universal Pulse
Uplifter because it has a wider range of tracks (we are talking about deluxe right?), not just a greater amount. But what's the point of this? Why not do
Music Vs. Grassroots
Grassroots Vs. Blue
Blue Vs. Transistor
etc.

these were the two latest albums.
we can easily do the others as well. i wouldn't mind hearing people's opinions about say blue v. transistor or music v. grassroots (i pick tranny and roots fyi)

Never judge an album by it's cover!
Re: Uplifter v. Universal Pulse
UP
soundsystem > all other 311 albums

Jump up and down cuz that's the 311 style!

Re: Uplifter v. Universal Pulse
This is tough because neither album is great but they have one equally great song apiece. I would have to choose between Sun Come Through and Rock On, and at this point in my life I'm not sure I can do that.
Can I just add Sun Come Through to UP right before Count Me In and have Uplulstifer? I know it's hard to say but damn it's easier than picking one album.
No? OK, then Universal Pulse. Rock On's solo gets me going everytime and Weightless' instrumental fuckin' rocks the house. Between those two songs, there are six minutes of album that I don't skip through, and Uplifter only gives me about 40-70 seconds at a time before I remember and move on.
