Official Tally on UP Ratings
I think this is pretty obvious. You know what to do.
My rating is an 8 for now. The reasons being that I thoroughly enjoyed the music enough to where some of the cheese in the lyrics I am able to look past. As far as the chorus', I'd say they were mostly terrible, but then I noticed that I was singing them in my head as I was studying and then realized that if its stuck in my head, then they did something right. Though it did feel like mind rape at times. Overall, I'm not that critical on music in general. I'm not that difficult to please and some of you may find that as a weakness, but I personally love it. The more music I like the merrier for me.

I can agree with this, all of the songs have been added except Trouble to my workout mix.ska wrote:It's also good for working out in the morning before work. I try to do a half hour each day on the treadmill/bike/bowflex.logosteel wrote:8. Only because it is the perfect girth for my drive to work

9 for me only b/c i'm not fully diggin' time bomb or wild nights yet. i think the other tracks are all pretty damn good. lyrics are cheese, but they remind me of the old 311 cheese.
this is the first time since DTOM that i can say i'm really fucking happy with 311 again. i hope they keep pushing out smaller albums like this. would love to see them work more on their "space rock" stuff too. and a ways to and weightless are a good start. they are heading in a good direction at last.
i've also noticed that they seem to be doing a lot more side shit since they left the major label. SA's wild nights video, the animated videos for trouble and weightless, the weightless remix. makes me wonder what all they may have wanted to do in the past but couldn't with the label wanting things a certain way.
one more album as solid as this one or better and i think my faith in 311 may be fully renewed.

Re: Official Tally on UP Ratings
There are two or three songs on the album I don't like at all. The rest of it is really catchy, sometimes in a grating, cliche kind of way. I do find myself singing them even if I don't like them. This morning I woke up with a 311 song in my head and I've only listened to the album twice. The fact that I like half of an easily digestible 8 song album is discouraging as hell from a band that once released Transistor. Maybe it will grow on me, maybe not.
I can't rate it right now... I'm going to give it a couple weeks.

Only song I've heard is SIJ. It is terrible.
