I'm considering 7/9-7/11 ... That would be #28-30 ... with the Boston Show being my 30th... Would be sweet, especially if it does end up being a special 20th Anniversary Show. Always wanted to see Jones Beach, not really looking forward to the commute into the city though.

We'll see ... but 7/11 is a definite.

Kinda disappointed not to see a Meadowbrook Show in NH .. but I guess the trend has been away from there for a while now.

Two Alaska shows? That must be a personal thing for them to cross off the list... the special guest in Anchorage intrigues me.

I've seen 311 about 4 times at PNC. It really matters where you sit because it's an open ampitheater. Lawn area tends to have the most echo-y sound but if you are able to get into sections 101-104 the sound is much better. Only other shitty thing about PNC is that for the last few 311 shows the venue has banned tailgating in the parking lots. Not sure why they uphold this policy for some shows and not others. Saw Cruefest there and tailgating was allowed so......

Where in KOP?
Thats 15 mins from my house :)

From KOP to the city (Without traffic) is about 45 mins.

What time are you planning on leaving? What route do you plan on taking? . The show is on a Tuesday and rush hour starts on 422,202,476 and 95 around 4:30 - till when ever it dies down (a normal 15min ride can take hours.................................. it takes me about an hour and some to get home from Devon to Pottstown).

I suggest leaving WAY early to beat out the traffic.
There is a Dave and Busters next to the festival pier, Witch could come in good use if needed to entertain the wife.

pnc has assigned seating, then a GA lawn in the back. like he said, it all depends on seats. from anywhere in the seats except the center, the sound is SHIT

I prefer VA beach over lube live, but alas i have to make a 3 day trip out of it due to my wife and i's work schedule.

however VA beach are beer nazis- no underage drinking @ that venue for sure (saw plenty of peeps kicked out for it)

I just hate the crappy traffic in and out of bristow plus leaving the venue blows for traffic.

I understand your frustration... and it's completely justified.

However, I would think that if they're skipping Texas, Florida, etc.. this tour... than that means they're definitely planning do an extensive tour of the south during the Fall.

In 2003, I don't know about Texas ... but they played Birmingham, Alabama, and 3 shows in Florida.

I have a feeling that Atlanta is going to be very special again this year... as it was in 2000. So if you can plan a trip, do so... but if you can't, they'll swing back around sooner rather than later.

It could be worse, you could be living in Europe like our buddy Jens. He hasn't seen 311 in Germany since '02/03 I think.

I've only been that way once, when we helped her move in 2 months ago. She lives in an apartment complex off of Rt 23 West Valley Forge Road (only 2 or so miles from KoP mall). Seems like a pretty cool area to live with a lot to do...a helluva lot more than where we are.

We live about an hour south of Pittsburgh, so we'd take the turnpike to get to her place. As to how to get to the concert, I don't have a clue which way we'd go (IF, and that's a big if, we even go at all). One thing helping the cause is that it's during the summer, and my wife will be off for summer vacation (she's a teacher). But she is pregnant, and I don't know how down she'll be for a cross state trip for me to see 311 (and her sister).

I'd have to take a few days off vacation from work since it's on a Tuesday, and we already have a vacation planned to go to Virginia Beach (too bad 311 wasn't playing there in August when we'd be there).

We'll see how it pans out...
Ok let me know!
I can give ya a hand with directions etc.....

PNC in Jersey is awful.

3 beer maximum - they stamp your hand and give you a bracelet with tabs to tear off after you buy a drink. easy to get around but still... not to mention all the Jerzo fuckball meatheads yelling fuck the bullshit and whos got the herb the whole time. awful place for a show.

they better announce some 20th anniversary shit.

i might go to one. DC maybe. i can probably wait until 311 day 2012

DC maybe. i can probably wait until 311 day 2012
I've heard similar things said about Comcast Center (formerly Tweeter Ctr) in Mansfield, MA. Both events are run by livenation ... as are most east coast venues... NYC, DC, Atlanta, etc.

As to the meatheads -- we have them in Boston too ... and there's a certain stoner element that's always HYDROPONIC! WGTH! -- and for non-stoners like myself, it gets annoying ... but it's part of 311's following, and to use a pun, I just roll with it.

Thanks for the head's up on PNC. As much as I'd love to do multiple shows this tour... i'm thinking Boston/Mansfield is going to be the one and only. But hopefully it's a special show...

After 4 1/2 years, I know it's going to feel good to be there.

HOLY CRAP i had no idea they renamed the Nissan Pavilion to Jiffy Lube Live! lame :|

it'll be my first time at va beach.. i'm neither underage nor do i drink, sounds like i should have nothin to worry about :D

traffic is always gonna suck right after a show. i plan for a little chill time after, talk about the show and let the craziness die down a little. spend some time trying to find the buses 8)

I can give ya a hand with directions etc.....
A few questions, then.

What kind of place is Penn's Landing in Philly? Indoor/outdoor? Seats in back with a pit/floor section in front?

I ask this because my wife said she will "entertain the idea" of going. As long as I make her a shirt that has an arrow pointed to her belly with "Future 311 Fan" on it. hehe

And I'd rather my wife not have to stand in a pit, even though 311 pits are usually very mild.
The festival pier is one giant pit. All standing room but there are some bleachers that they set up on the left and right site of the stage for people to sit (but they mostly stand on them)

The best way to get there from KOP is:
Head East on 76. Get on Vine st (676 E) and follow that to 95 South. Finally get off at Columbus Blvd and head north.

Bing map:
http://www.bing.com/maps/default.aspx?v ... PA%2019106

This is where Concert is. If you get there early enough ( A good hour or soo ) You can park on one of the piers. Dave and Busters ( where all the boats are parked ) is right below the parking pier and the concert will be where the Blue mats are, north of the parking pier.

The best way to leave is make a right out of the parking pier. Head north on Columbus blvd. Do an illegal u-turn and head South on Columbus blvd, get on 95 N to the Vine St express way, hop on 76 W and you on your way back to KOP.

If you cant make that u-turn. You can head W on Spring Garden St. Turn left at n21st ST. Follow that down and make a right on John F K Blvd and get on 76 W there.

DO NOT go any farther north then Spring Garden st.......unless you wanna get shot :)
