Sun Come Through is the best song off of Uplifter. After having months to really absorb the CD, it's clear this is the best track they've come out with in years. It gives me hope for the future. They still have the potential to be great but just seem to choose not to.

Those two are probably my 2 favorites from the Uplifter Sessions...

I love the entire album though.

I think most of Uplifter is a HUGE improvement over DTOM...especially musically. Listen to the bridge in Golden Sunlight...it makes my head bob every time.

Sure there are a few exceptions (ie. Daisy Cutter, chorus of Something Out of Nothing). But the good by far outweigh the bad. And I think we'd just about all agree that it's the lyrics, not the music. You change the lyrics of Daisy Cutter and you have an okay song...change the lyrics of the chorus of Something Out of Nothing, and that song is one of the best on Uplifter (I love SA's verses and the solo).

I know you're not a fan of Uplifter, Nate...but to me it's really not much different from the 311 we loved back in the day.

I agree dude. Musically the album is solid, a small step in a new direction IMO. Lyrically it's meh. If the softer songs were the only lovey dovey songs, this album would be a-fuckin-mazing.
