Put this dog down

Post by JonnyG24 »

If no one's talking just 2 weeks before a 311 day, this board is dead. For some reason I come to this board way too often with with hopes of seeing a new post like "new b-side released" or something mind blowing...can't figure out why.

So...what are your expectations for 311 day? Long setlist, a few b-sides/rarities, a couple of stage gimmicks here and there?

311 Day will be webcast on 311.com...so thats cool. You think they'll do any covers? Like Mary Jane's Last Dance or something else uninspiring (i.e. The Joker).

I cannot even imagine how someone could actually withstand more than 4 or 5 hours of 311. An 11 hour shift at work goes by faster than 311 Day. It's so sad what this band has become. If Nick could just die, then maybe 311 could make an instrumental album and replenish some shred of creativity.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Nick Hexum is 311. Love him or hate him, if he goes then that band will cease to exist. P-nut already has a side gig. Chad Sexton would most likely take up record producing fulltime and TIm Mahoney would simply be a gun for hire. I honestly don't know what S.A. would do.

Your gripes about a long set list and the need for doing an instrumental album have no impact on each other. Are you really that starved for attention that you would insist death upon somebody to get a response to a post?

What keeps you coming to the 311 section of the forums? Attention whoring in the Anything section is expected but really, what do you do to contribute to this community?

I expect a five hour show from 7-midnight with three sets, one cover song, and a few b-sides with one extremely rare b-side. That seems to be the format.

I hope there's more laser stuff this year.

311.com wrote:In addition to the live webcast (7PM PST on March 11th) - 311 DAY will also be available as a VIDEO-ON-DEMAND for the 30 days following the concert (March 11 - April 11). Why should it be free? Fucking ludicrous.
