Now that the dust has settled on uplifter.
What is the greatest 311 song of all time. I understand that uplifter will probably not sway any opinions but I wanted to try to generate some discussion in the 311 section of these boards.
I'm going with Use Of Time and I love the version heard during 311 day 04 in New Orleans. I remember the song Running being the consensus number 1 when someone did this thread around the summer. I could go with Running considering the lyrics alone sum up what 311 is all about. Tough call.
So what do ya got folks.

Choosing one best song is idiotic.

You see, this is time you could have spent wearing down your girlfriends virginity.

Staying on topic, I'm gonna go with Use Of Time. Same answer I'd have 10 years ago, and it's the same answer I'll have 10 years from now.

Damn this is tough. It depends on how you look at it. Are you critiquing the songs by how it makes you feel without really analyzing song proper structure/tones/music etc -- or are you taking everything into account from a professionalish standpoint? Being a non-professional, I can't even try there.
Are we taking into account how well they use their potential, with what they've learned over the years? In that regard, do we critique their later stuff more harshly than their earlier stuff? Or does their lack of ambition offset what they've learned?
The best I could do is pick a favorite and have no reason other than my little opinion to back that up with. I gravitate toward progressive music which has a killer climax and tells a story (or can at least be perceived as telling a story or having meaning). I am inspired by music that makes me feel like I could be a hero in a movie or something while I listen to it.
And with that...
I pick...
Umm...
I guess confusing use of time is up there... sever... lose... those would be my top 3 for "Best" 311 songs. But they're not always the best to listen to... it depends on what you're up to and how you're feeling.
Something tells me that everybody reading this post is thinking, "Dude, you think too much."

I guess I'll add time is precious and let the cards fall to my little list.

all the vocals were shifted forward one measure for the final cut, giving it a completely different (more generic IMO) feel.
