So Hizzy has been getting good at interpreting 311 lyrics lately. Well, I'm posting this to show that there's someone else around these parts who is just as good, if not better: me. Today I'll be breaking down "I'll Be Here a While" by 311 on From Chaos. I'll leave you all to see for yourselves who's the best interpreter in town...
----------
A Breakdown of I'll Be Here a While
I'll be here a while, ain't going nowhere
I'll be here a while, ain't going nowhere
I'll be here a while, ain't going nowhere
I'll be here a while
-He's going to be sticking around, and while she* might be a bit afraid that he'll* leave at a moment's notice, he* is never going to go anywhere. He uses "ain't" in order to be casual about his statement to show that he's serious but yet relaxed about his Love*
Far is solace in the maddening pace
sad state written on my face
not a tight rope walk but dance
uncertain game of chance
but I'll see it through in time
Times are rough... and an end isn't in sight. He's on edge and constantly upset- feeling that he doesn't know when he'll get to relax again. However, his Love is flowing for her, and he stays Positive by knowing he'll 'see it through in time' and all will eventually be well.
I'll be here a while, ain't going nowhere
I'll be here a while, ain't going nowhere
I'll be here a while, ain't going nowhere
I'll be here a while
He knows she's still listening, so he reiterates the fact that he'll still be sticking around through the trying times. He's not going to ever leave her or their situation because he is determined to make it work
And if a person place or thing can deliver
I will quiver with delight
tempted by the hand that could
blind my vision and sight
but at twenty years of age
in frolic and in rage
I will see it through in time
He knows that if someone can deliver Peace, he will take it in a moments notice. However, the Devil may be just tempting him to cop out and fall into the clutches of Negativity, so he needs to watch out for that. He's having an existential crisis at 20 and is really frustrated with the world, but again, he remains chill and positive knowing that he'll figure it out eventually... even if it takes him until he's 30 years of age.
I'll be here a while, ain't going nowhere
I'll be here a while, ain't going nowhere
I'll be here a while, ain't going nowhere
I'll be here a while
He's still staying around, maybe not for a girl like I was saying to make fun of the Amber interpretation... but he hasn't given up hope on his life. One day he'll figure his life out and feel better. Or maybe not. Maybe he'll fall victim to one of the Pussy Cat Dolls and become obsessed with maintaining late career chart-topping status after the success of a Cure cover, resulting in a mediocre album filled with predictable hooks and one-dimensional texture in 2005. No matter what though, he's not going anywhere... he's going to stick around.
But the dawn has come into the endless night
and everything's going to be alright
but at thirty years of age
through frolic and in rage
all regressed and healed in time
Okay now he's 30 like the other verse predicted and he's finally getting better. Sticking around and believing himself paid off. Even though "Waiting" wasn't the pop jam of the summer like he wanted... he knows in his heart that he still has loving fans who will sell out 311 Day '08. Here we come baby, woo! All is well in Nick Hexum land.
I'll be here a while, ain't going nowhere
Said I, said I, said I, I will survive
Hey hey. Two words: Gloria Gaynor
--------------------
Well, well. See, two can play at this game after all, H-man. And I've got plenty more where that came from. Think you can handle some more song breakdowns, Jizzy... or are you chicken? Ba-gock, ba-gock.

Re: What do you think of this? I'd like it if you read please
I love how Nick somehow went backwards in time.

i think S.A. should stick to rappin... and avoid utilizing his voice to carry a more "singer" style... cuz i dont like the way he sings
stick to rappin you little mexican
you said "the day we turn to pop, the show will stop"
SO DON'T FUCKING SING
