Soooo. A guy i recently talked to that saw 311 on the Grassroots tour. Was telling me about how they band used to throw out plastic graphix bongs to the crowd as a promotion for the company.
Anyone else heard of this. Cause it's news to me and to Joan who hadn't heard of it before.
I'll have a pic of it hopefully soon.

I haven't heard anything like that, but my first show wasn't until '99. Its a possibility I guess.

could be true. they used to be sponsored by graffix and there is that scene in etsd 1 where they are opening a bunch of bongs that were sent to them.. so it would make sense that perhaps they would toss a few out to the crowd.

when i saw them 1996 in chicago the DJs from the radio station tossed out packages of zig-zag rolling papers to the crowd to get them "pumped"..

even plastic bongs are expensive though aren't they?

When I met them for the first time I was handed a folder that had a catolgue full of bongs...I was told to pick one out...I did and when my cousin came off the road he had it for me. I didn't pick a base to it and I was told by my cousin that Tim picked one out for me. It's a turnado with "Suck it" I still have the bong, it's my 311 one! I don't know about them throwing them into the crowd but could happen.

Excuse the dirty bong and sorry so big. You can't make out the Suck It cause it's engraved into the base.

theres a happy medium, about a 1 - 1 and a half footers, gives maximum water cooling as well as more space for ice to further cooling, too small and you start getting little sips with every hit
