Well, if they play past midnight on 3/10 that kinda counts as being on 311 day. Will be better than any new years eve party I've ever been to. That's for sure.

I'm totally out of 311 loop. Why is 3/11 day concert not on 3/11? Seems like such a weird decision.

I think because it fell on a Monday so they did the shows on sat/sun

I just went thru their Setlists page which actually stopped updating after 2022.. http://setlist.com/311/

This is the first time in their history they're not doing it on the actual 3/11 day.. pretty big deal if you ask me. 2002 was on a Monday. 2014 and 2008 was on a Tuesday. This is obviously a "business" decision to get more to attend on a weekend which you can't blame them for, but it does take some of the mystique out of it.

I really wish they'd take it back to New Orleans at some point. It's an official city holiday there, they literally have a key to the city and all the bars play their songs. The pre- and after-parties are wild. It seems like there was so much love for them there when I saw them there on a 3/11 day, whereas Vegas is a cold, enormous corporate machine that doesn't really give a damn about them.

Nope, the full mystique is still there. Nice try though! :D

What do you mean nice try? The whole point and lore of 3/11 Day is that it occurs on 3/11. That's not happening this year for the first time in their history. That's a totally valid thing to bring up!

311 Day to me has taken on a life of its own, it's almost a concept. I'd much rather they spread out the massive setlist over several days rather than the marathon concept. They'll probably do something special at midnight Sunday anyway. Stay positive and love your life, and fuck all you naysayers

I actually agree that it should be on 3/11 day itself! At least one night of it anyway. I also think New Orleans is a way better place to host than vegas. Never been to a vegas 311 day but i've been to multiple in NOLA. Been to vegas a couple times (non 311 related trips) and honestly not a huge vegas fan in general. NOLA has always been amazing though

Believe me, I'd love to go to NOLA, but it's just more convenient all around when it's in a place like Vegas. I didn't even have to take a connecting flight. And it was on the weekend so I didn't have to ask off work multiple days in the middle of March. I hadn't been to Vegas since I was underage so I'm glad I got to now that I'm an adult, but I agree it's not really that special. The only things to do there are shop, drink, and gamble, and I don't really do the latter. But at least now I've crossed 2 things off my bucket list.
