DTOM, Uplifter and Universal Pulse

Post by FrixHex311 »

After jamming Stereolithic for almost a month straight I can't stand the songs on DTOM, UPLIFTER AND UNIVERSAL PULSE. It pisses me off that all those great song ideas didn't reach their potential and all it took was Scotch Ralston. To think what those albums could of been with Scotch behind the sound table. I just heard Golden Sunlight and i used to really like the song but can't stand it now knowing what it could of been. Maybe I am wrong but i only like maybe 5 songs combined from the past three albums.

Well at least P-nut agrees with us that the last few albums have been sub-par.

yeah theyr're definitely tough to listen to now. even more so than before.

I don't think we can attribute all of stereolithic's success/the mediocrity of the last few albums to scotch vs no scotch. I'm sure the band hand something to do with it too.

I still enjoy a fair amount of tracks off of those three, but as I mentioned in the "tier" thread, they are just in a different class of albums than Stereo.

Word, Ska... I'm still in awe and high amounts of thankfulness that they listened to us since 2005, about finishing up Go, and turned it into SUCH a GEM and even the Stereolithic album opener!
Every time I hear Ebb and Flow start, feelings of thankfulness always just bursts out...

uplifter is pretty fucking awful...I mean...Daisy Cutter? More like wrist cutter....

Stereolithic OWNS all of them. (DTOM & UP are ok/meh in my book)

If you combined all the best songs from Transistor and Stereolithic, I think that would be a better album than other two in 311's catalog.

It's crazy, but I agree with everyone here. I created a hateful post when the record came out, but I did a 180. I have been listening to Stereo since it's release. I love the direction the band is going in. I was just an asshole. I grew up with the music these guy's put out so I guess I have a relationship to it all.(My first concert was @PNC Holmdel in NJ 2006) and it really meant the world to me. These guys transformed my worldview and inspired me to learn to play instruments, and learn about life. They were a life-altering inspiration.

It really comes down to a love for them that goes so deep that I want the best from them and want them achieve the most they can. They have already done so much. Stereo really brought me back into believing in them again. Even though I was a stubborn asshole at first ;)
