I can't tell if I don't actually like it, or if I just equate hearing that riff to having just watched one of the pledge interview videos. I liked the videos, but after a while it got kind of annoying that this was the song that played during them, I wanted to hear more. I like the Nick-rapping part, really like the "Oooh-oh-ooooooh's" in the background, even though it's somewhat cheesy. Super-like the guitar solo. Is that Stephen Hawking at the end, or just a computer voice?

My 2nd favourite behind Made in the Shade? Yes, I do believe so.

The ominous "Oooh-oh-ooooooohs" at the end just make it seem even more extraterrestrial

I get the "I feel like I shouldn't like this song" feeling. But for some reason I love it. I picked up the lyrics to it faster than any of the others. Chad tears it up come oringan style on here too.

What made you feel that you shouldn't like it? Just curious.

I guess nicks delivery. It kind of sounds overcrowded and jumbled but for some reason it works.

It has been a bigger criticism the past few years. It all started with Long For The Flowers.

I'll take a second listen at it but this shit is restoring my faith in Hexum right now. We'll see how I feel in 6 months.

I just gonna say it now. Nick dominates this album. Catchiest album to date.

He does and for the most part he delivers. There are some notes throughout the album he tries to hit that he just can't and some of the harmonizing is annoying in places but the important part is that he actually TRIED with the lyrics. And SA happily doesn't feel like a tack on with lyrics that don't fit at all on the songs.

Musically, instrumentally 311 never really lost it - the vocal delivery of the fromage lyrics is what ruined many a recent song. Sure they had Cheez Whiz lyrics since the beginning but they were delivered with such conviction or uniqueness that they never came across that way...
