I'm just going to use this thread to tell you to either make a thread that includes all of the songs, or shut the fuck up and stop spamming the board.

Well, neither of things is going to happen, so... save your breath?pnutwannabe wrote:I'm just going to use this thread to tell you to either make a thread that includes all of the songs, or shut the fuck up and stop spamming the board.
I'm not spamming. I'm attempting to have a way to discuss songs individually.

Apparently you're lacking the intelligence to differentiate between song discussions in a single thread, but I think the rest of us can handle it.

Re: The Great Divide
Is it miT or P-Nut at the beginning, there? My first thought was P-nut, but now it sounds like Tim. SA kills it in this song. I love it when he takes the lead in the chorus. I love the slow build of the bridge-end.

This song. Holy shit dude. The verses are the fucking buttery goodness of Blue album. I always thought Rock 100 was a dirty riff that could be good if really brought to life. They steer away of formula toward the end which is my favorite kind of 311 song.

"Venture on, the sketck is not completely drawn" is my favorite lyric on the album.

Re: The Great Divide
Nowadays I'm sort of put off by Nick rapping, I think I just have a hard time taking his lyrics seriously. Then again, SA is responsible for singing "Baby, we ready? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah," so that might be a little unfair of me. I love the breakdown the last third of this song.
Who doesn't like the oscillation at the beginning?

Re: The Great Divide
at first i thought blue album but then i realized the tempo isn't nearly fast enough for blue album.. this is straight from chaos with the chorus being a mix of evolver and something not done until now.. brand newjaus311 wrote:This song. Re: The Great Divide
The Great Divide is definitely one of my favorites on this album so far. And to think it is based on a outtake riff from 311's worst album. "That's nice." Best 311 song since Mindspin? I can't say that yet. Maybe better than anything on DTOM and Universal Pulse. Maybe not better than Jackpot and India Ink. Definitely not better for me than Creatures (for a while) and Sick Tight.ska wrote:Best 311 song since Mindspin. My favorite part is the SA lead with Nick backing parts.
