a chat room might be cool. it might be helpful, for example if somebody has a question they could get an answer or an offhand remark faster. just trying to throw out ideas

I looove chat rooms, but nobody ever seems to want to hang out in them. The official 311 chat room is just as good a place as any. Check it out on the official 311 site.

Also if you know how to use IRC, connect to efnet and join #311 to get to the place that fatlip is talking about. Or join #idle for what dj3stripes mentioned. Given enough time or money, I could set up a java chat room that works out of this web site, but 'm not up to it any time soon.
