Any beat or melody can become a great song as long as you know how to compliment it.

Sublime was a great band. Some people don't like them, but their music IS in fact very influential. It's timeless, it'll be listened to for years to come. Unlike bands like Limp Bizkit that have such a "dated" sound.

there are a lot of new reggae/rock bands all over the country that are no doubt influenced heavily by Sublime. Most of them sound really bad or are straight ripping off the sound to a tee. But there are some really good bands that are incorporating that sound and making it their own.

Sublime is reggae, Rx Bandits are ska. Third wave ska revival and some othter stuff, to be specific. Sublime was influenced by the 3rd wave but the style is more american. Third wave comes from england two tone style and some dancehall influences from Jamaica, i suppose

dogg have you heard anything past Halfway Between Here and There? that was the last thing they had that was straight up ska.. everything since has been some sort of a Police/Sublime mix with an indie twist and a shitload of originality. i'm insulted you called one of my favorite bands "third wave ska."
