Wanted Station to sticky it. :D

To start it off, How long have you other drummers been playing and what kind of kit do you have?

Years Playing- 2.3

Kit- TAMA Swingstar 5-peice w/black finish. I have it set up as a 4-peice now because I hate the 13" tom.

no i don't really have anything w/ me right now jus cuz all the projects i was a part of were never good enough to get into a studio...starting bands in highschool w/ ppl who don't know the first thing about playin w/ a group is NOT smart lol. ummmm well if ya search OSU drumline on youtube...a vid will pop up of a pretty tricky cadence...it's in 11/16 meter (i think...it's been a while)

15 years... used to have a big ass pearl kit with like 10 cymbals sabian and zildjian mixed... and two kick drums... ahhh the good old days.
stopped for a while and then my dad bought me a 5 piece starion kit that fucking sucked balls... got tired of playing again, sold my drums and started playing guitar.
Music's what i need to keep my sanity

Word dude I'll never find a band in high school i dont think. The scene sucks (emo/pop-punk) there is really no talent either. Can't find anyone who wants to play my style.

<----4 Years... Wine red Tama swingstar. I am about to buy a rack and a 8 & 10 inch tom to add to the kit so I will have an 8, 10, 12, & 18 inch tom setup... I will post some pics of what it looks like now... Its not a bad kit, the toms sound ok, especially when I put brand new heads on... Eventually I would like something nicer... maybe a pearl ELX kit...

What kind of heads/sticks do you guys use.

I've went from Vic Firth 5A's to 7A's.

Right now I have coated ambassadors on top and clear ones on bottom.

I have a swingstar and Im happy with the way my toms sound with the coated heads. I'm not gonna update my toms amount until I gte a new kit I don't think. I eventually want 8,10,12,14, and 16" toms.

Vic firth 3a's
Clear emperors on top, clear ambassadors on the bottom
My snare drum has a coated ambassador on the top and a clear diplomat on the bottom. I just bought a pearl chad smith snare drum not too long ago when musiciansfriend had a sale on them. I tune my snare drum pretty damn tight - it actually sounds alot like chad sexton's OC snare, but of cousre it will never sound like the real thing :)

only about 4 months, took a few lessons during late june/early july. had a 5 piece standard grestch kit. found a set that looks purty damn cool. no idea how it would sound though.

the design looks sweet. although designs on a kit don't mean shit...unless you've got the albino monster like mikey 8)

i used to play for the school back in the day, (4th -8th grade) i was in the school jazz ensenble for a couple years too. percussion was pretty fun, although the music teacher would always kick us drummers out because we were too rowdy.

Its funny you say that about your 13 inch tom - i fucking hate mine too - I can put a brand new head on it, and tune it perfectly and it still will sound like shit. Maybe because its a swingstar...I dont know yet.
