Looking 4 New Music: Tell Me Bands That Sound Like These PLZ

Post by rchrhds29 »

So I am looking for new music / new bands to check out, so I am going to post the names of some bands, and songs, that are my type of music in hopes that people will tell me other bands that sound similar to the bands I post. Okay! Thanks!

Sunny Day Real Estate

The Dandy Warhols (not sure if a lot of people will even know who they are though)

The Code / Anti-Flag (i.e. good politically oriented punk bands, but not NOFX, hate them!)

The Donnas / The Breeders (any good all girl bands out there anymore??)

Cherry Poppin' Daddies (they are the only good modern swing band I know of)

Common Rider / Chixdiggit! (i.e. good pop punk bands)

Alkaline Trio

Avail (i.e. anyone know of any southern punk bands that still are around?)

Radiohead (LOL no one sounds like Radiohead but Radiohead, so will be interested in what bands people think do...p.s: Coldplay does not!)

The Pixies
Some songs to download:
Sunny Day Real Estate "Seven": http://zvukoff.ru/song/1401823
Reel Big Fish "Suckers": http://zvukoff.ru/song/1019787
Justin Sane "Cassette Deck, Road Trip, Grand Canyon": http://zvukoff.ru/song/1218433
Chixdiggit! "I Remember You": http://zvukoff.ru/song/1089295 (Pop Punk)
Common Rider "Classics of Love": http://zvukoff.ru/song/1086159 (Pop Punk)

brian setzer orchestra/stray cats
rchrhds29 wrote:Common Rider / Chixdiggit! (i.e. good pop punk bands)
iron chic/latterman, bomb the music industry!, swingin' utters, the vandals, frenzal rhomb, the fullblast, forus, half hearted hero, jet market, the ergs, straightaway, after the fall, hit the switch, heartsounds, much the same, ryan's hope, belvedere, descendents, 98 mute, cigar, tilt, hi standard
rchrhds29 wrote:Alkaline Trio
Rocket From the Crypt, The Bronx -- these don't sound like Alk3 much but the rock-vibe is there

we're not southern, but we're consistently compared to Avail. shameless self-promotion:
http://censorsny.bandcamp.com/album/2010" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://censorsny.bandcamp.com/album/disappointment" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

also, Silent Majority

Muse's older stuff is the poor man's Radiohead
