Have you discovered any new bands lately?

Talk about your fave band or genres. Or plug your own band, whatever.

singer of hope conspiracy
drummer of converge
bassist/guitarist of the red chord
I'm usually not too keen on this type of metal, but I fucking love this band.
GOAT wrote:The human abstract. I'm already obsessed. Their new album digital veil is wicked... its like hardcore progressive metal. Their old stuff is good too but different due to changes in vocalists and just about everybody else in the band. They remind me of protest the hero a bit. Their musicianship is rediculous.
Guitarist AJ minette is the beast of a man behind all the writing. He is trained in classical guitar and it shows. Digital Veil is still blowing my mind after dozens of listens. The vocalist on digital veil has been my favorite so far but i guess he already quit on them.

I've never been big on their older stuff but they really stepped up with digital veil. it's just pure genius IMO. the sonata "antebellum" is just amazing.

Protest the hero and the human abstract is as good as metal gets for me. Guitar wankery at its finest.

ohhhhh shit! Downloading now!

If you're just starting off with volta I'd recommend listening to Deloused in the Comatorium first. And read up on the concept of the album, IMO it adds a lot to it if you know what the story is

not new to me but they are the two albums I've been recommending lately and that's Trombone Shorty's last album "hurricane season" and Hillstomp "darker the night".

trombone Shorty is like jazzy/funky/rocking creole music and hillstomp is southern rock/country

I just downloaded Jet Set Siempre. Is the rest of the stuff on the record just as good?

Thanks Shiny!

Also, shiny, have you heard of Handsomeboy Technique?

I think you would dig them.
